October Bath, Beauty, and Health Favorites

Oct 31 2016 12 Comments

Starting with this month, I’ll be doing a new series where I share my favorite products I used during the month. For October, I’m sharing my favorite bath, beauty, and health products.

Being that I’m hoping to take my business from part time to full time, I’m saving costs anyway I can to be prepared when I leave my day job. So everything on this list can be purchased for under $10.

[BTW, this is not a sponsored post, and all products were purchased by moi.]

October Best Bath, Beauty, and Health Products | by Desire Anne, Alabama fashion+beauty blogger

1-Equate Cocoa Body Lotion

This bottle itself boasts that its comparable to Vaseline’s similar cocoa body lotion. They smell essentially the same, and make my skin feel the same, so I went with the Equate brand. It was only a $1, and I primarily use it on my legs and arms.

Can be purchased at: Walmart ($1)

2-Alba Botanica Acne Wash

I was attracted to this product because it’s “for normal to oily skin,” and it contains “100% vegetarian ingredients!” I don’t get acne that often, so I mainly use this as a face scrub. My face always feels squeaky clean after I use it, and it dries up the excess oil that’s always around my nose. I’m careful with what I put on my face because I want to avoid breakouts, so this item is a little pricier.

Can be purchased at: Target ($6), Walmart ($6), Walgreens ($8+)

3-Yes To Shampoo and Conditioner

I LOVE Yes To products. They’re natural, paraben-free, and contain organic ingredients. This is important to me because since I’ve gone natural (meaning I don’t put chemical relaxers in my hair), I do not put any other harmful chemicals in my hair. Harsh chemicals are primarily found in cheap products. Yes To is usually around $7 or $8, but this month I found travel sized versions at the Dollar Tree! So I got four packs of them, since I usually wash once per week. (The shampoo is packaged with the conditioner.) This scent is “carrots” and it smells sooo good. My hair always feels so soft afterwards, too.

Can be purchased at: Dollar Tree (travel size only—but they sell out pretty fast); Target, Walmart, Walgreens ($8+)

4-Essie Nail Polish

If you do not know what Essie is, you probably live under a rock! I will usually spend a little more on polish because I do my own manicures, and I prefer them to last long. This color I’m wearing is called “mod square,” and it’s so cute!

Can be purchased at: Walgreens, Target, Walmart; $8-9

5-Restorz Vitamin D3 Supplements

My doctor told me I have a Vitamin D deficiency because I don’t get enough sun. Crazy to believe since I live in summer-all-year-round Alabama, right?? But I do work in an office all day, then I spend the rest of the day either indoors at my home office, hanging out with friends, etc. So really, the only time I’m in the sun is when I at a photography shoot or I’m at a yard sale. I like these because they’re gummies and have the same amount of IU that I was already taking in capsule form.

Can be purchased at: Dollar Tree, and possibly other dollar stores

6-Ivory body wash

I usually buy Dove, but since I’m trying to cut costs, I decided to try Ivory this month. I bought the “original scent,” but it still smells super good. It’s the 12 oz bottle, and it only cost $1 at Walmart. They have other sizes, and there’s usually coupons online or in the newspaper for them.

Can be purchased at: Walmart, Walgreens, Target, dollar stores

I’ve tried Yes to Carrots baby wipes and I use them for my face and I love them <3. I haven't tried their hair products though. Dove is my go to for my sensitive skin so I always get their beauty bar. I've been wondering whether the dollar tree gummies work, I've been thinking about getting some. I haven't really tried Essie, I usually use O.P.I. or Milani. (To save money definitely check out Ross or Marshalls to get essie nailpolish for $3.99-$4.99) occasionally the dollar store sells O.P.I. 🙂 I like your post!

Hi, Blessing! Thank you for your kind words. I love the wipes, too. And thanks for the tip about Essie. I had no idea. Gotta save those dollars! I have some O.P.I. polishes in pink and pastel blue as well.
